V Varun Chaudhry, PhD

V Varun Chaudhry is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University, where he is also affiliated with the Department of African and African American Studies, the Department of Anthropology, and the Program in Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies. Dr. Chaudhry's research focuses on the racial and class politics of the institutionalization of “transgender” in nonprofit and funding agencies in the United States. Their work has been published in such venues as Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society; Transgender Studies Quarterly; GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies; American Anthropologist; and The Foundation Review. They are also the author of Transforming Inclusion: An Organizational Guide (published by the Leeway Foundation in 2018) and Out in Research: A Guide to LGBTQ Market Research (forthcoming from Suzy, Inc. and other corporate partners).
