Pato Laterra, BA

Pato Laterra is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Buenos Aires, based at the Interdisciplinary Center for Public Policy Studies (CIEPP) with a grant by the Argentinian National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) in the strategic area of gender studies. He is also an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the National University of La Plata, and, by courtesy, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Buenos Aires and the Institute of High Social Studies at the National University of General San Martin. Pato’s research focuses on the dominance of cisgender and heterosexual perspectives in care studies, and how such academic knowledge affects both public policy and hegemonic norms around care and care-worthiness.
